Is it me or is it April first? Processed food-like items seem like they’re getting stranger and stranger. I have to assume that the recipe down below seemed like a more-or-less reasonable recipe to somebody at some point, but the attempts of the processed-edibles industry to keep people eating nonsense seem to be getting desperate.
Try this one on for April Fools’ Day! It’s called “Oreo Dip for Oreos,” in case you were wondering what else to call it. Note the capitulation to fresh fruit in the form of halved fresh strawberries. But no, guys, in case you were wondering — that’s not going to cut it. You can’t fool me. I wouldn’t dip a strawberry in this for love nor money.
“• 1 tub (11½ oz.) whipped cream cheese spread
• ⅓ cup packed brown sugar [in case you weren’t already satisfied with the amount of sugar]
• 8 OREO Cookies, chopped
Directions: Mix cream cheese spread and sugar in medium bowl until blended. Stir in chopped cookies.
Serve with additional [ha!] OREO Cookies and halved fresh [then it must be good for me] strawberries.”
April fools!
